This women's organization is a very important part of our
ministries at First Presbyterian Church.  The women are
organized in "Circles" or small groups.  These "circle"  
meet regularly for Bible Study and fellowship.

Fellowship Activities
The members of the congregation are encouraged to
participate in a variety of activities to promote fellowship
and help them get to know one another better.  Various
gatherings and activities take place at First Church,
including progressive dinners and movie nights.

Ministries and Committees at First Presbyterian Church
Session
As the primary governing body at First Church, the session guides and directs
all areas of congregational life.

Board of Deacons
The office of Deacon is one of sympathy, witness and service after the example
of Jesus Christ.  The deacons provide a caring ministry for those in need in the
congregation and the community.

Outreach Committee
Reaches out to friends; encourages member and friend involvement; provides
for member transition. Recruits new members; maintains the membership roll;
provides services for evangelism,advertises First Church.

Christian Education Committee
Educates children and assists children in the Worship of our Lord.  Encourages
children's retreats, camps, conferences, special gatherings, baptism,
commissioning, and provides nurture.  Also provides for adult educational
opportunities, including retreats, camps, and conferences.

Worship & Music Committee
Provides planning for corporate worship services; provides Christian music and
art experiences in cooperation with the pastor.

Stewardship Committee
Develops our year-round program of stewardship of time, talents and money.  
Conducts the annual Stewardship Campaign.

Church and Society Committee
Presents the needs of mission -- global as well as local. Provides leadership for
special offerings approved by the session. Stresses the need for time and talent
in local mission programs.

Building, Finance and Grounds Committee
Maintains buildings and grounds; manages assets (equipment, rooms, library,
program resources). Obtains and reviews all insurance coverage.  Budgets
financial resources; accounts for funds; manages finances, and initiates annual
audit.

Personnel Committee
Obtains all non-exempt staff and nurtures staff; Worker's Compensation
Insurance; temporary help; medical insurance, payroll, payroll taxes; affirmative
action. Conducts annual staff reviews.

Nominating Committee
Identifies church members to be nominated for election as church officers.
Committee members are elected by the congregation and the session.
