Feb. 1-6: Read Psalm 29; “The Lord gives His people strength; the Lord blesses His people with peace”
(Vs. 11) Lord God, we pray that You will give Your strength to Your people—Your church—around the world.
And we pray that strength will be blessed with Your peace, the peace that passes understanding...the peace
of Jesus Christ. And we pray that strength and peace for our own congregation, for our presbytery, our
synod, and our General Assembly.

160th Birthday Celebration
|
Wow, 160 years worshiping our Lord in
Stockton. What a blessing God has
provided us. On March 17, 1850, as many
of you know, the Rev. James Woods
organized First Presbyterian Church, with
11 men and one woman (his wife). This
small group of believers worshiped our Lord
in a gold rush town with only a handful of
families. Stockton at the time was made up
of men here to seek their fame and
fortunes in the gold fields.
Since that time, our congregation and
members have made a tremendous impact
on the City of Stockton. We look forward
to celebrating this 160 year journey
with a birthday luncheon following
worship on March 14th. A number of
special things are planned for this day; you
will want to be part of it.
No birthday party would be complete
without gifts.
