| 500 Pairs of Socks for 500 Years |
On July 10th John Calvin was born 500
years ago. First Church will be
celebrating his birthday on Sunday July
12th. To mark the occasion we will be
collecting 500 pairs of new socks to be
given to St. Mary's Dinning Room.
Between now and July 12th people are
asked to bring new pairs of socks and
place them in the baskets in the
baskets near the sanctuary. All types
of socks (causal, dress, single pairs,
multi-packs) and sizes (men's, women's
children's) can be used. On July 12th
as part of the morning worship service,
we will pray that God will guide the feet
of those who will be wearing these
socks. So bring those socks and let's
start counting... 1, 2, 3, 4 ....500!

In an attempt to be good stewards of
the earth, First Church has
re-implemented its recycling program.
Our goal is to cut the size of our
garbage bin. We will be recycling
bottles, cans, aluminum and paper
weekly.

The Fellowship Committee will have it's
second Sunday Luncheon on July 12.
There will be a light lunch, followed by
Birthday cake, in honor of the 500th
Anniversary of John Calvin's birth.
The congregation is asked to bring
salad and fruit.
